According to the PSP in Indiana, 20 year old Simere Maurice Alford, who is currently incarcerated in SCI Pine Grove was charged yesterday with criminal attempted murder of a law enforcement officer of the first degree plus several other charges totaling 19 felony counts. The incident happened on June 24, just before 12:30 pm when Afofd was being taken back to the SCI following a preliminary hearing at the MDJ in Clymer.
The accused reportedly freed his hands and took the gun from the officer driving the unmarked car and fired a shot nearly hitting the head of the officer. The trooper grabbed the gun while Aford fired another shot that hit his own leg and foot.
Aford’s preliminary hearing is set for this Friday at 9 at SCI Pine Grove.
