A lightning strike damaged a home in Rayne Township early this morning.
Marion Center Firefighters reported that the fire call came in at 12:06 this morning. Indiana County 911 reported that Creekside, Indiana, and Marion Center fire departments were all called out initially to the fire on Grove Chapel Road. Officials reported that the fire was caused by a lightning strike on the house itself. Heavy smoke was reported in the structure.
Marion Center fire officials said the fire was located quickly and knocked down within 10 minutes of the crews arriving. Minimal damage was reported to one of the bedrooms of the house.
No injuries were reported.
