There appears to be some forward momentum in the negotiations for a new contract for faculty members at IUP and the 13 other state-owned universities.
After two days of negotiations this week, both the State System chancellor and the president of the faculty union issued optimistic statements. Talks began in May to replace a contract that expired June 30th.
Two more sessions are scheduled on Monday and Tuesday next week. The next talks for a coaches’ contract are scheduled for August 5th and 6th. That contract also expired June 30th.
