On June 24th, following a preliminary hearing for a 20 year old prisoner, who authorities were transporting back to the State Correctional Institution Pine Grove, on Fyock Road in White Township, an incident reportedly occurred inside the patrol vehicle. According to a press release today, two members of the Pennsylvania state police who were involved in the incident were treated for minor injuries at IRMC and were released.
Per standard Pennsylvania State Police policy, given the nature of the the incident, both troopers have been assigned administrative duties while it’s being investigated. PSP noted this is in no way disciplinary and it is simply a standard Pennsylvania State Police policy.
Also noted: the prisoner was treated at IRMC and released back to SCI Pine Grove. The investigation of the incident by the Troop A Major Case Team is ongoing and additional information will be released as appropriate.
