A juvenile driver from Punxsutawney was involved in a single-vehicle accident two days ago.
The Pennsylvania State Police in Punxsutawney say on Wednesday just before 11 pm a 16 year old male was driving west on Winslow Road near the intersection of Route 36 in Gaskill Township of Jefferson County, when the driver side front wheel and tire came off the vehicle. He traveled for about 60 plus feet before coming to a stop in the right lane.
The 16 year old was wearing his seat belt, but reported his head was hurting from hitting it on the steering wheel. He declined EMS transportation. The vehicle was towed from the scene and he was not charged.
