State Police from Punxsutawney are warning of a phone scam that was going through North Mahoning Township.
Police say on June 14th, a 30-year-old man from the Punxsutawney area reported to police that they were scammed into purchasing about $1,100 in gift cards for an unidentified person claiming to work for the “Speedy Cash” company using the alias “Tony Appleton.”
Troopers advise that that if you get any calls from unknown telephone numbers asking for any form of gift cards, you should immediately hang up the phone.
