A free ride was not so free for an Amish man from Punxsutawney.
According to ExploreJeffersonPA.com the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department filed criminal charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property both a felony 3 and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle against 21 year old Jacob Byler on June 8.
The published report says Byler allegedly took his neighbor’s car without permission and crashed it into an embankment on Porter Road, Jefferson County but continued driving. EYT also pointed out Byler was cooperative with the authorities, he is free on $40,000 unsecured bail with a preliminary hearing set for July 2 with Judge Mizerock presiding.
