The driver of a car that attempted to flee the scene of an incident on Monday got more than a DUI.
Around 6 pm, State Police in Indiana found a sedan stuck in the berm of Camp Faith Road in Cherry Hill Township and was attempting to flee. The driver, 22 year old Harold Kirsch of Northern Cambria, reportedly became combative and aggressive with farmers in the area and backed into the guide rail and a tractor tire before he sideswiped a parked truck, only to get stuck on a rock within the berm.
According to the State Police, when Kirsch was asked to stop the vehicle he shifted into reverse in the direction of the officer. Repeated commands were said to be ignored.
After further investigation it was determined Kirsch was under the influence of alcohol and with a suspended license. He was taken into custody and transported to IRMC for a blood draw. Charges include, but are not limited to, resisting arrest and DUI, pending court proceedings.
