This was the first time that Indiana County was using a new voting machine system, but many who went to the polls may not have seen a difference.
The county commissioners put the new voting machines into place for this election ahead of the state mandated order for new polling machines with a verifiable paper trail for the 2020 election. Outgoing Indiana County Commissioner Rod Ruddock said that several counties had purchased similar machines and would be looking at how things turned out for Indiana County.
The county purchased the new voting machines using money that was saved over the past few years.
