Brookville Council last night approved the hiring of a new full-time police secretary and laborer, pending each candidate’s acceptance. They follow the resignation of Jennifer Dolan and the retirement of James Rowan.
Also approved was the hiring of Dylan Donohue as a part-time police officer. Donohue also works as a police officer in Ridgway.
As part of a continued beautification effort, Council also approved sending out letters to Main Street property owners inviting them to voluntarily place new planters in front of their businesses. The local garden club has offered to assist and maintain the planters. It’s all in an effort to replace the numerous trees that used to line Main St. but have since died.
