Western Pennsylvania gas prices have crossed the $3 per gallon threshold.
After increasing by 11 cents last week, the average price of gasoline across the region is another 13 cents more expensive this week at $3.04 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report. The average price during the week of April 8 and 16th was around $2.91.
The cost of unleaded self-serve gasoline in various areas stands on average at $3.09 in Punxsutawney, around $3.00, plus or minus a couple cents, in DuBois, and $3.01 in Clarion and Indiana.
On the national front, a gallon of gas averages $2.83 per gallon. The most expensive is again California, where the average cost of gasoline jumped to $4.00, the highest since July of 2014.
