A man from Punxsutawney who is accused of rape and assault will have his hearing next week.
According to ExploreJeffersonPA.com, 33-year-old Shawn Douglas Smith has a preliminary hearing set for April 23 in front of Magisterial District Judge Mizerock for several charges, including rape, two counts of aggravated assault, strangulation, possession of firearm prohibited, terroristic threats, plus nine other charges.
Smith is in the Jefferson County Jail.
