At the Purchase Line School Board meeting on Monday night, the board accepted the retirement of five employees with a combined 142 and a half years of experience.
Among them was Principal James Price, who was with the school for 27 years, serving as principal for 16 years, decided to retire, along with Steve Woodrow, art teacher with 36 years of experience. Also retiring were Diane Fenten, a kindergarten teacher for 32 years there, Sharon Chura, school nurse for 29 years, and guidance councilor for 17 and a half years, Cindy Risinger.
All retirements were accepted. The board also signed off on the creation of an instructional coach position and approved contract services for a social worker for the 2019-2020 school year.
