Deer are still active on Route 66.
State police in Marienville say the accident occurred yesterday after 7 am, when a woman was driving north when a deer entered the road and into the path of her vehicle. The deer was hit and the vehicle came to a controlled stop.
The driver was injured. According to troopers, she was driving with an expired vehicle registration and was cited. Her name and other information was not made public.
