Gas prices across the state have remained, on average, level over the last week.
According to Gasbuddy.com, the average cost of a gallon of unleaded gasoline in Pennsylvania is $2.79 a gallon, which remained steady over the last week, but is still 13 cents higher than last month. Compared to last year at this time, though, prices are eight cents cheaper on average. Gas prices have seen increases as of late as some areas are switching over to summer blends of gasoline. While Indiana County does not receive any of the summer blends, the reduction in production of regular gasoline blends does bring the price up, meaning gas prices in Indiana County are going to be comparatively high.
Jefferson County has the cheapest average gas price with $2.76 a gallon. Clearfield checks in with $2.78 a gallon on average and Indiana County’s average price for a gallon of gas is $2.81 a gallon.
