The couple who were found guilty by a jury of child endangerment, were sentenced on Wednesday.
Clarion County Chief Public Defender immediately filed an oral motion for extraordinary relief seeking a new trial based on the lack of jury instruction in the original trial for 34-year-old Samantha Marie Woodside and 43-year-old Corey Dent Yachimowski, who the jury found guilty of first-degree misdemeanor child endangerment on February 11.
President Judge James Arner denied the motion and then sentenced Woodside to three years of probation and Yachimowski to a minimum of nine months to a maximum of two years less one day in the Clarion County Jail.
Arner noted that the difference in the sentences was due to Yachimowski’s criminal record.
