Ice and slush was part of the cause of an accident that happened on Tuesday.
The State Police in Punxsutawney say 43-year-old Phillip Voss from Mahaffey driving north on Route 286 in Burnside Township in Clearfield County just after 4 pm on February 12, when he hit an ice and slush on the road and lost control of his vehicle and drove off the shoulder and hit a tree. Voss and his passenger, 24-year-old Jessica Barnes from Punxsutawney, were not wearing their seat belts and were taking to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
Voss was cited for not driving at a safe speed and no other information was released.
