A Sligo man is facing a retail theft charge after state police say he walked out of the Monroe Township Walmart with about $177 worth of merchandise — allegedly tucked into his pants.
Police say 51-year-old Steven Barkefelt concealed a smart doorbell, pens and a wall charger before heading across the street to a Motel 6. Troopers found him there and say he eventually admitted the doorbell was in his pants.
Barkefelt is being held in the Clarion County Jail on $2,500 bail, with a preliminary hearing set for Tuesday.
