Sylvia Christina Miller, of Summerville, PA passed away peacefully on July, 31 2026 at the age of 91.
Born September 27, 1934 in Summerville, PA she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Lettie (Anderson) Wyse. Sylvia attended Summerville High School and graduated as Valedictorian in 1952. She continued her education at the Philipsburg State Hospital of Nursing where she received her license as a Registered Nurse. Syliva’s dedication to nursing continued at Brookville Hospital until her retirement. On June 9, 1962 Sylvia married the love of her life, Gene Clair Miller. Together they enjoyed traveling during Gene’s military service, working with the youth in church and doing outreach programs. They built a life rooted in love, family, and faith. Sylvia was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her beautiful heart reached beyond her family and touched the lives of many friends. She adored her dogs, found so much joy watching hummingbirds flutter by, reading mystery books and the bible, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She loved the Lord with all her heart and her unwavering faith shined through in the way she lived, loved and cared for everyone.
Her surviving family include her daughters Jennifer (Scott) Singleton and Jeanette (Daniel) Kniseley; her grandchildren Joshua, Arielle, Auroara, Shayna, and Garrett; her great grandson, Rhett. They will miss her warm hugs, feisty spirit, laughter, and the love she gave so freely. In addition to her parents,
Sylvia as preceded in death by her husband, Gene Miller and her sisters, Jean Parker, Deloras Womer, and Patricia Snyder.
