
A preliminary hearing for a Brockway man accused of sex trafficking has been moved to next month.
According to court documents, the preliminary hearing for 50-year-old Edwin J. Botwright of Brockway will now be on Tuesday, March 5. Brookville Borough Police Department filed seven charges against Botwright on Tuesday, January 22, including trafficking in minor, criminal solicitation plus five other charges.
Botwright is currently free on a $50,000.00 security posted by a professional bondsman.

In Indiana County Court today, 26-year-old Andrew Barto of Mahaffey will be sentenced for a guilty plea to indecent assault of an unconscious person, with non-prosecution for a second count of the same offense. The crime occurred in March of last year in Indiana Borough.

Two People were sentenced in Clarion Court after pleading guilty to meth charges and a breaking and entering.
ExploreJefferson.com reports on Wednesday Judge James Arner sentenced 35-year-old Jeremy David Carey of Clarion and 28-year-old Rebecca Dawn McAninch of Sligo to prison terms. The published reports says Carey was sentenced to an aggregate sentence of three and a half years to seven years in state prison, while McAninch was sentenced to an aggregate sentence of 24 months to 48 months in state prison.
They are both lodged in the Clarion County jail awaiting transfers to state prison facilities.

On Wednesday a man from Clarion was sentenced to state prison for possession of meth and illegal weapons.
President Judge Arner sentenced 59-year-old Harry Bailey of Clarion to serve up to 54 months in state prison, plus five years of county probation on Wednesday. According to court documents Bailey pleaded guilty on January 9 in the Clarion County Court of Common Pleas to four charges including manufacture with intent to deliver.

A man from Rimersburg who is accused of setting fire to an abandoned building in Porter Township back in September of 2017 was sentenced to probation on Wednesday.
Clarion County Judge Arner sentenced 67-year-old Nelson Keith Byers of Rimersburg to two years of probation and other conditions which include avoiding all contact with the victims and their property and refraining from setting any fires on the former Porter Township Elementary School and any other property adjoining the victims’ properties.
