The Clearfield County Commissioners heard from local union representatives during Tuesday’s work session as they encouraged young adults to consider careers in the skilled trades.
Gantnews.com reports Representatives from the electrical, iron workers and operating engineers unions said apprentices earn wages, health benefits and retirement while receiving on-the-job training, adding that local unions are seeking more workers and encouraging students to explore programs through the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center.
