A Heat Advisory remains in effect for the listening area from now through 10 p.m. Friday, with heat index values expected to reach as high as 105 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Officials warn that the combination of high temperatures and humidity could lead to heat-related illnesses and urge residents to stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activities to the early morning or evening, wear lightweight clothing, and check on vulnerable family members and neighbors.
