A Knox man and his nephew are facing misdemeanor theft charges after Pennsylvania State Police alleged they stole a water buffalo container from a Clinton Township property in Venango County and fled as a witness followed their pickup truck at speeds exceeding 80 mph.
According to exploreclarion.com, court documents charge 32-year-old Austin James Scott, of Knox, and 19-year-old Terrace Daniel Hair, of Butler, each with theft by unlawful taking. Investigators said the pair took the $100 container on May 3, later admitted to taking it, and told police it was returned a few days later.
Both are scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 8 in Venango County Central Court.
