Braylon Wagner threw for 394 yards and three touchdowns, including two scoring passes to former Redbank Valley teammate Jaxon Huffman, as the South defeated the North 48-22 in the 11th Annual Frank Varischetti All-Star Football Game on Friday night at Varischetti Field.
Huffman finished with 10 catches for 244 yards and two touchdowns, while Hunter Scherer of Karns City rushed for 116 yards and three scores as the South erased an early 14-6 deficit by scoring 42 of the game’s final 50 points.
Frankie Smith of St. Marys earned North Offensive MVP honors after catching two passes for 106 yards and a touchdown, while Cameron County’s Malakai Zucal was the North’s Defensive MVP with two interceptions. Wagner and Hayden Hindman were named the South’s offensive and defensive MVPs, respectively.
