Howard Thomas Armagost, Jr., 90, of Brookville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026.
Born on January 15, 1936, in Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania, Howard was the son of the late Howard Thomas Armagost, Sr. and Emma Mae Cathers Armagost. Howard, Jr., was the youngest of five children and was preceded in death by his siblings Paul Earl Armagost, Dorothy Marie Snyder, Alice Jeannette Nocerini, and Joseph L. Armagost.
Howard married the love of his life, Margaret J. Lyle Armagost, in March of 1955. They shared many years together before her passing on March 30, 2026.
He is survived by his daughters, Rene (Ronald) Galbraith of Brookville, Pennsylvania, and Lisa Jane Rearick of Gowanda, New York. He also leaves behind five beloved grandchildren: Zeb Redford, Tai Redford, Roe (Thomas) Cantu, Ryan Michael Rearick, and Sarah Jane Rearick; as well as four cherished great-grandchildren: Levi Brunt, Davin Cantu, Jacen Redford, and Dylan Redford.
Throughout his working years, Howard cleaned smokestacks, co-owned a furniture upholstery shop, and worked at the Chevrolet plant in Buffalo, New York, where he ultimately retired. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to providing for his family.
While in New York, Howard had been a member of the East Concord Fire Department and a member of the Ridge Riders Snow Mobile Club. He was a devoted outdoorsman who found joy in hunting, hiking, woodworking, and staying active. In his later years, he frequently enjoyed walking and swimming at the Brookville YMCA.
Howard will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of the outdoors, and the deep love he had for his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
