Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate held steady at 4.2% in April as total nonfarm payrolls climbed to a record-high 6.2 million jobs, according to the state Department of Labor & Industry.
The state added 10,700 jobs over the month, led by gains in professional and business services, while education and health services reached an all-time high.
Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate remained slightly below the national rate of 4.3%, as the state labor force expanded by 14,000 workers.
