Rainy weather led to several postponements and cancellations across District 9 yesterday, but there was still plenty of action on the diamond.
In baseball, North Clarion edged Johnsonburg 14-13 in nine innings, while Grove City walked off Clarion 9-8 in a D9/D10 crossover and Redbank Valley topped Mercer 9-5. Weather forced the cancellation of several games.
In softball, Port Allegany rolled past Coudersport 15-5 in five innings, while Brockway led Punxsutawney 6-1 before the game was suspended in the third inning and likely won’t resume. Rain also postponed Glendale at Curwensville to May 15 and DuBois at Clearfield to May 14, while others were canceled because of the weather.
