A Philadelphia man is facing felony charges after authorities say he stole a company semi-truck following his termination and drove it across Pennsylvania before being stopped on the state’s Turnpike.
According to the Punxsutawney based state police, the 37-year-old suspect allegedly took the $30,000 Freightliner Cascadia from a business on Service Center Road shortly after being fired and before transportation arrangements could be made for his return home. Investigators said the company tracked the vehicle using GPS as it traveled along Interstate 80
and Interstate 476.
Troopers later stopped the truck in western Pennsylvania, where the man was taken into custody.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 2.
