A 28-year-old Strattanville man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after Pennsylvania State Police allegedly discovered a marijuana plant and more than two dozen cartons of untaxed cigarettes during a traffic stop in Forest County.
ExploreJeffersonPa.Com as reporting, Daniel Edwin Burgess was stopped Feb. 28 in Marienville for alleged vehicle code violations, and a subsequent search of his pickup truck uncovered 26 cartons of unstamped cigarettes and a live marijuana plant. According to court documents, Burgess admitted ownership of the plant and most of the cigarettes. He is charged with felony possession with intent to deliver, along with several misdemeanor drug and tobacco offenses.
The case has been transferred to Forest County Court of Common Pleas following a preliminary hearing.
