The Jefferson County Solid Waste Authority will host an electronics and household hazardous waste collection event this Saturday at the Goodwill building in Falls Creek.
The collection will run from 9 a.m. to noon, with a second event scheduled for Aug. 22 at the same location. Registration is required through Noble Environmental or by phone. Fees apply for certain items, including televisions, paint and batteries, while some materials such as explosives, pharmaceuticals and tires are not accepted.
Officials say the county’s recycling efforts continue to grow, with more than 500 tons of glass collected since the program began.
