A 47-year-old Armstrong County man is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after a traffic stop in Jefferson County allegedly led to the discovery of a stolen handgun and drugs.
ExploreJeffersonPa.Com is reporting Wade Henry Calhoun, of Ford City, was stopped on Route 36 in Barnett Township for an expired registration and obscured license plate. During the stop, troopers reported smelling marijuana and later found a loaded pistol with an obliterated serial number under the vehicle’s center console, along with marijuana and related items.
Police said Calhoun, who was prohibited from possessing a firearm, also admitted to recent marijuana use, and subsequent testing indicated the presence of controlled substances. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23.
