A new Pennsylvania law requiring vape and e-cigarette manufacturers to certify their products with the state attorney general could soon remove many disposable nicotine devices from store shelves, as a compliance deadline approaches.
Vape shop owners say the move threatens a major portion of their sales and could reduce state tax revenue, while health officials argue it is necessary to address rising youth vaping and associated health risks.
The state is expected to release a list of approved products in June, with retailers given until October to sell off any noncompliant inventory before it is deemed illegal.
