A house fire in Clearfield County on Monday morning destroyed a home in Morrisdale and killed a pet dog, authorities said.
Multiple fire departments responded shortly after 9 a.m. to the 3200 block of Allport Cutoff, where they found the residence fully involved. Officials said no one was home at the time of the fire. The homeowner later confirmed the dog died in the blaze.
The house was ruled a total loss, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the state fire marshal.
