A Punxsutawney man is facing assault charges following an alleged domestic dispute earlier this month, according to Punxsutawney Borough Police.

Buffington, 40, was charged with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly pushed a woman into a couch and spit on her during an argument at a residence on West Mahoning Street. Police said the incident began as a verbal dispute and escalated outside, where a witness reported seeing the alleged assault. Buffington denied the accusations.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 21.
