A 47-year-old Houtzdale woman died Tuesday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision on Route 153 in Boggs Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
WJAC News reports, investigators say the woman was traveling southbound in an SUV shortly before 2:00 p.m. when her vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and struck an oncoming tractor-trailer. The impact caused the SUV to spin off the roadway and hit a guardrail. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clearfield County Coroner’s Office. Authorities have not yet released her name pending notification of next of kin.
Route 153, also known locally as Crooked Sewer Road, was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
