Sligo Borough officials say they are relying on temporary workers and volunteers to maintain essential services after the resignation of their only full-time maintenance employee.
According to ExploreClarion.Com, Borough leaders reported ongoing challenges keeping up with routine duties, equipment upkeep and emergency needs, though services remain operational. The council has received about 10 applications for the vacant position and plans to begin interviews soon.
In the meantime, officials approved infrastructure spending, addressed equipment concerns and continued efforts to stabilize operations while seeking a permanent hire.
