A former corrections officer at SCI Forest has pleaded guilty to multiple charges stemming from alleged hazing incidents involving two trainees, authorities said.
According to ExploreJeffersonPa.Com, Garrett Anthony Smead, 29, of Warren, admitted to counts including indecent assault, indecent exposure and unlawful restraint related to events that occurred in May 2025 at the state prison in Forest County, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office. Prosecutors said Smead assaulted and restrained the trainees during separate incidents inside the facility, causing physical injuries and emotional harm.
Smead remains free on unsecured bail, and sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
