A 58-year-old New Bethlehem man is facing misdemeanor charges after police responding to a domestic disturbance in January allegedly found two loaded firearms in his home despite a prior conviction prohibiting him from possessing weapons.
According toExploreJeffersonPa.Com, officers recovered a 9mm handgun from beneath a couch cushion and a 12-gauge pump shotgun from an upstairs closet after the resident, identified as Brian Ashley Leonard, admitted to having both. Authorities said Leonard has a 2018 simple assault conviction and had previously been denied when attempting to purchase a firearm.
Leonard is charged with two counts of person not to possess a firearm, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 7 in Clarion County Central Court.
