Updated: A 36-year-old DuBois man, already registered as a sex offender, is facing nearly 300 felony charges after Pennsylvania State Police alleged he uploaded hundreds of child sexual abuse images and videos to a cloud storage service.
According to WJAC News, Investigators say Nicholas Johnston is accused of sharing about 260 files through a platform operated by Synchronoss Technologies, linked to Verizon Cloud, with uploads traced to a former Falls Creek address and a phone number in his name. Authorities said many of the files allegedly depicted very young children, including infants and toddlers. Johnston, who was previously convicted of child sex abuse in 2015, reportedly admitted during questioning to viewing and distributing the material across multiple devices.
Police said a forensic review of several cell phones is ongoing, and court records indicate Johnston has not yet been apprehended as he awaits a preliminary hearing.
