A woman from Punxsutawney is facing multiple charges after police say she stole and used an EBT card belonging to a hospice patient.
According to ExploreJeffersonPa.Com, 61-year-old Karen S. Farcus is charged with financial exploitation of an older or care-dependent person and several related theft offenses after allegedly using the card for $129.07 in purchases at Walmart and Dollar General in late February and early March. Investigators say the victim died March 1 at a nursing home, and Farcus later admitted to taking and using the card during an interview with police.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 8 before Jacqueline J. Mizerock.
