A DuBois man is facing multiple theft charges after authorities say he stole a catalytic converter from his employer and hid it in his pickup truck.
According to a criminal complaint filed by Pennsylvania State Police, 40-year-old Eric James Shaffer was reported by a manager at Wells Auto Wreckers in Winslow Township after the converter, valued at $303, was found in the bed of his truck. Shaffer told troopers he may have mistaken the part for his own while working on personal vehicles.
Shaffer was charged with several misdemeanors and released on $10,000 unsecured bail, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 20.
