District 9 boys basketball quarterfinal action produced several decisive wins across Class 1A and 2A last night.
In Class 1A, second-seeded Johnsonburg rolled past seventh-seeded Northern Potter, 54-26, while third-seeded North Clarion handled Oswayo Valley, 51-21, and fourth-seeded Cameron County topped fifth-seeded Otto-Eldred, 44-30. Class 2A also saw higher seeds advance, as top-seeded Clarion defeated Brockway, 65-43, Moniteau knocked off Kane, 61-38, Redbank Valley edged Keystone, 47-39, and Port Allegany secured a 42-34 victory over Coudersport.
In girls Class 3A quarterfinal play with District 8, Moniteau earned a narrow 45-42 win over Westinghouse to move on.
