Punxsutawney Phil made a surprise appearance at The Press Cider and Taproom in State College, drawing large crowds eager to see the famed groundhog ahead of Groundhog Day.
WTAJ News reports, the visit, hosted by the Punxsutawney-owned taproom with members of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club on hand, featured long lines of fans, photo opportunities with Phil and Groundhog Day-themed treats.
Phil is set to return to Gobbler’s Knob on Feb. 2 to deliver his annual winter forecast.
