A Venango County woman is being held without bail after authorities say she fatally stabbed another patient at a personal care home Saturday morning.
According to ExploreVenango.Com, troopers were called to Sugar Valley Lodge on Church Street in Polk Borough around 8:56 a.m., where 60-year-old Mary Gruphofer was found dead in her room from multiple stab wounds. The suspect, Dyan A. Diven, 48, of Polk, was taken into custody at the scene and charged with criminal homicide following consultation with the Venango County District Attorney’s Office.
Diven was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Andrew Fish, who denied bail, and was remanded to the Venango County Prison as the Troop E Major Case Team continues the investigation.
