A Punxsutawney man is facing a first-degree felony charge of aggravated assault after police say a domestic argument left his wife with a head injury requiring staples.
Court documents allege that 47-year-old Michael Kitchen picked up his wife and threw her across a room during an argument on Jan. 2, causing her to strike her head. Police said the woman drove herself to a hospital, where she received three staples for a laceration; a CT scan showed no brain bleed.
Kitchen was arraigned Jan. 3 on charges including aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment and was released on $30,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
