A Clearfield County man is facing felony animal-cruelty charges after humane officers rescued an emaciated Great Dane and two cats from his home, authorities said.
Investigators say 27-year-old Michael Wells neglected the animals, which were found severely underweight and living in a flea-infested, unsanitary environment. The Great Dane, named Stella, weighed only about 77 pounds and was reportedly unable to stand.
Wells is being held in the Clearfield County Prison on $5,000 bail, according to court records.
