A Ridgway woman jailed earlier this year is facing new charges after allegedly trying to bypass a court order by asking others to falsely claim ownership of her property.
Court records show 57-year-old Kelly Jo Wright was charged August 15 with forgery and tampering with records. Investigators say Wright used jail phone calls and letters to encourage others to lie about the ownership of items including a horse, ATV, mower, and gun safe to avoid seizure under a restraining order.
Wright remains in Jefferson County Jail. A preliminary hearing is set for September 11 at 11:15 a.m. before Judge Gregory M. Bazylak.
