With Pennsylvania’s budget impasse now stretching past two months, counties are feeling the effects differently.
According to WJAC News, Clearfield County commissioners are urging lawmakers to act quickly, warning that many municipalities may soon have to dip into reserves. Jefferson County officials, however, say they are prepared for now. Commissioner Scott North said they trust legislators to resolve the issue soon: “We understand they’re doing their work… and the impasse will eventually be solved.”
While some counties can wait, many are closely monitoring the situation as pressure mounts for a state budget.
