A former Elk County pastor is under investigation in Erie for allegedly rigging parish fundraisers, including a Corvette raffle.
Fr. Ross Miceli, who once led St. Boniface Church in Kersey, is accused of inventing a fake winner, “Martin Anderson of Detroit,” after the Pennsylvania Lottery drawing didn’t match a sold ticket. Miceli allegedly claimed the $50,000 cash prize and deposited it into an account he controlled. Investigators say he admitted to naming friends as winners in other raffles.
Miceli, who previously served in New Jersey before moving to Pennsylvania, recently resigned from St. Jude in Erie and is being reassigned in Clearfield County.
