Punxsutawney Borough Council President Justin Cameron resigned Monday after eight years of service, citing personal and professional reasons.
Jessica Smith was elected president, with Josh McAfoos remaining vice president. The vacant seat will be filled within 30 days. Cameron criticized the borough’s parking experiment, calling it a failure, while police suggested other factors be considered.
Council also approved leasing railroad property for more parking and accepted the resignation of Borough Secretary/Treasurer Michelle Peace, appointing Jessica Yoder as her replacement.
